During this fair, representatives discuss the research opportunities available on campus. Joining a psychology research lab is a great way to gain hands-on experience, build your CV/Resume, and make connections in the Psychology Department. The research labs discussed in this fair include: Academic Motivation & Resilience Lab; Culture, Diversity, and Adolescent Development Lab; Behavioral Endocrinology Research Lab (BERL); CAIRNS Lab; Cognition Lab; Social Identity Lab; and Social Influence Lab.

Faculty and graduate students of Cal Poly Humboldt discuss aspects of applying to graduate school such as: Requesting (positive) letters of recommendation; GRE prep; Personal statements; and Building a CV (curriculum vitae). This presentation was followed by a Q&A session, and an opportunity to workshop CVs and personal statements.

This talk introduces some concepts in Gerontology, provides a research example from Behavioral Gerontology, and discusses how students can learn more about aging by identifying university and local community aging resources.
