Bullying, Depression, and Self-Harm in Middle School Students

This talk describes results of a recent study of the association between bullying and depression, self-injury, and suicidality in a sample of 450 middle school students from Northern California schools. Comparisons are made between uninvolved students and students who bully, those who are victims, and students who bully and are also victims. Results suggest important distinctions when addressing bullying as a risk factor in suicide prevention programs.
